Right? They really do run big.  They are cute though.
maybe if i got the black ones i ordered  :eyeroll: LOL!

I generally stay out of political threads, but i got sucked into that one!! Well, MM was called a princess and i was called arrogant last week in the CH, that is a milestone for sure :D Since I have struggled so much with health insurance over the years, it is something i feel so strongly about.

I missed the princess comment, but yeah, that thread got ugly, fast. I feel pretty strongly about it, too - my niece would be uninsurable if she ever had to buy her own policy without the ACA - but jeeeeeez that got nasty.

I got called a hell of a lot more than that and strangely enough I didn't call anyone any names but whatever...it is water under the bridge. I don't need to post there and it is healthier for me if I don't. Why I consider a group of people that live to call me nasty names and insult me friends is beyond me so I will no longer.

But I like yall so here I stay.  :d

I skipped the DD iced coffee because I didn't have time, which worked out ok because I met some customers to have lunch over sushi. All-you-can-eat sushi. And these girls like to eat sushi. I had a good bit of edamame and some salad, and now I'm just trying to remember how many pieces of sushi I had so I can sort of approximate my entry for the day. I had a small breakfast, and I think I'll still be full at dinner and will just have salad, so it all works out ok. Plus, we had lots of veggies in our rolls.

MM, are you doing WW? You mentioned a meeting...I just signed up last week for WW online. Are meetings helpful?

And don't get me started on political threads and name-calling. I like good political discussion (which most of that thread was for a while) but when it breaks down, I can't take it.

we have an all you can eat sushi buffet that my running partner is obsessed with (Minado, it is a chain) and I just love. We only go if we ran 20-30 miles that day :D DD loves it too, but sushi, when you add it up, is not as healthy as you would think it would be.

I have no inspiration to cook this week, probably because we are leaving early Friday. I hope we can scrounge up some meals between now and then. I made a thai lentil sweet potato soup, but i was the only one who wanted it. Guess i have lunch for the week!

Yep. I find that the meetings motivate me. Probably just the act of showing up. I don't do well with online as I simply just don't follow it.  :d

It does seem like a higher level of accountability. I'm not sure I could show my face at a meeting and talk about all the sushi I ate today.

(But I am still full! I will have a salad for dinner!)

when i went to meetings in grad school i really enjoyed them. i found them really fun and entertaining. My roommate and i went and we were by far the youngest ones there. It was a bunch of old Italian mommas and they were so funny. I learned a lot too about food items and recipes that i would not have otherwise at the time. i was very ignorant about portion control, etc, back then.

I did meetings for a long time, but then got to the point where I just wasn't getting anything out of them anymore, so I quit the whole thing. Online works better for me now. Along with telling people that I'm doing WW, so if they don't start seeing a change, I'll be busted for not doing it. :D

MM, glad to see you around here.

Took the kids & DH with me shopping so it was freaking stressful and rushed.  I hate that.  I took a nap, because that is what I do when I have a mile long to do list.  Was woken up by lightening hitting either the house or very close.... haven't checked outside yet.  Knocked off power and a picture from the wall. Super freaky.

We had taco bell for lunch.  OMG I love tacos in a Doritos shell....what a genius idea!  So bad for me but yum.

Hi kids.  I've been on summer vacation.  Well I am still on summer vacation, out at the lake with my family.  In years past, it's usually a 5lb vacation because there are always lots of snacks and cocktails and desserts.   This year, I've been doing a good job at drinking less, but I have been less stringent with my eating, at least for dinner and dessert.  It's vacation and I rarely let myself do this, so I might as well just enjoy myself because these splurges do not come home with me.   And I've been keeping up with my workouts 100%.  And I have been running up a whole lot of hills.  And an old guy at the little small town gym told me that I look strong today.  :D

Good job, caito! Meri, glad to hear it about the insurance. What a PITA! Acupuncture today was awesome. Had pizza for dinner, but I'm fine with that. :)

I still have to get approved. Looks like DH will go on the better plan thru his work and DD can qualify for CHIP though we pay the premium in full (which is fine with me!) and I will get a BCBS HMO, as long as i get approved! DH's work plans suck, the crappy plan is affordable, the not crappy plan is wayyyyyyy too expensive for us, but just for him is cheap, because they pay some of his. Let's just hope i can get this all done by Aug 1st! I know the CHIP process is not the easiest, my friend just did it for her kids after her DH lost his job.

Whoever mentioned cherries is a goddess for reminding me of the ones in the fridge.  We have bings and something called ruby orondo that I just hoovered.

And I am super happy to see you here, MM.   :bouquet:

I had a bag of tortilla chips in the house and snacked on them a bit over the last 3 days and it shows!  I still lost from my starting weight last week b/c of my period, but not as much came off as should have.  Holy guacamole!
