ugh, Debba.  I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.  It sounds like you should just go to bed and let your body heal.

Thanks, diablita. I'm SO frustrated. Things had been going really well and I was really starting to get back into my exercise and BAM!

Well I only meant just compared to the amount of time out there for an ultra and needing a weigh in  :D I do not really think a weigh in is needed for halfs.  I think knowing it is coming is worse meri.  I just had to deal with it on the spot but much less stress beforehand.

that was how i read it, a half ironman is really not a cause to weigh in due to the distance not being as extreme as a full ironman or like a 100 mile race. I like the races that do voluntary weigh ins :D

I did have a weigh in at a 100 mile race and it weighed me in less than i weighed and i was THRILLED. However, i sent DH over to look at race merchandise and when he saw me hop on the scale, he ran over to see how much i weighed, he was curious  :eyeroll:

Oh, did i mention i have a nasty summer cold that has settled in my chest?  :grr: I took Nyquil last night and was up until 3am! WTF? I am taking another day off from running today, hope to be back at it tomorrow.

But in good news, those mystery pounds are gone and back to my "base" weight. Hoping to be 5lbs lighter than that come race day, however, race day is around the corner. LOL.

I had 1 egg + 2 egg whites for breakfast. Not really an egg fan, but hopefully it keeps me full until snack and lunch time :) i have made a big batch of summer rolls with cabbage, spinach, carrots, tofu, etc, all wrapped in rice paper. Kinda conflicting counts on calories in the rice paper, but it appears there are around 50cals/ wrapper. The package says 200 cals per serving, 6 servings per package, but no count on how many are in package and they are so fragile, afraid to count, LOL!!!!

Yeah, so it was 8:57 when I closed my eyes last night. Good thing, too, because at 1:45, Reid woke up screaming. We went in to check and he'd had a nightmare and was shaking and crying and clinging to me like a baby monkey. Poor kid. Something about monsters. He refused to go back to sleep in his crib and wanted to sleep in our bed, but honestly, there's just not enough room, so I ended up snuggling with him in the recliner in his room instead. We both slept, but it wasn't the best sleep I've ever had, that's for sure.  :luvcoffee:

3.2 quick for me miles this morning.  I have a new motivation of a possible beach trip in a few weeks... .so push ups and abs to be done too.
Yesterday was such an off day for me.  Glad to start over.

Meri & Debba, hope you both feel better soon.

Meri I've been thinking about your comment awhile back about starting your period during a long race wearing white.  I started mine a week early after the relay race and my theory was that the body decides that under so much stress from the race/running it must eliminate all unnecessary contents... and it definitely couldn't handle a pregnancy under those circumstances if they were to continue.
Just my random rambling thoughts.

and to make me even more pissy???  :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: DH took his new job without finding out the specifics of the benefits package, all he knew was that it was Aetna and DD and I were not covered, but the hiring mgr made it seem like it was very little to cover us, but DH never got the info, until just now, THREE weeks into the job, 4 weeks after hire. We had 100% paid Blue Cross PPO with his previous job. This will cost us $600-700/month  :yikes: WTF? and getting insurance as self employed for DD and I is not really a better option, crappy ass insurance for not much less. DH did get a pay increase with the new job, and it should cover most of that $, but wtf? can we never get ahead? between feeling like shit and everything else, i just want to crawl into bed and go to sleep, except i have to finish up at work, pick DD up and amuse her the rest of the day. Maybe ship her to the neighbor's if they are home. Thanks for listening, gals :):heartbeat: youse. :)

Meri, double check...  you often only have 30 days from the date of hire to make a decision on going on a benefit plan.  I just don't want you to miss your window.

And I'd be frustrated, too.  That sucks.

Yeah, insurance is ridiculous - not the idea of it, but the way it's put into practice.
