Thanks, Courtney - I'm really pissed off about this. I'd been feeling great!

Damn, Courtney!  That looks great.  8 sets of 8 reps is hardcore!  I never would have thought of that.

I wish I could, meri! If it doesn't clear up in a couple of days, I'm calling to get in at my acupuncture place.

I know, same here...  That's what's so nice about our trainer.  He mixes up the reps and stuff, and it is good to not always be lifting the same.

We also do these things where we'll count down the reps.  So we'll start out doing 10 reps, then 9, then 8, all the way down to 1.  Your arms pretty much want to fall off after that.  :D

Damn, Courtney!  Thanks for sharing.

So I may have eaten some salty snacks yesterday (these veggie chips I bought for DD that were LOADED with salt and herbs) and retained huge amounts of water last night, not to mention the fat grams.  I weighed 4 pounds more last night than I did in the afternoon.  :yikes:  I really can't eat certain salty, processed snacks though putting salt in my food never does that.

Happily I downed an herbal tea last night and a TON of water today and it's almost all back off.  but ZOMG.

yep, my body is like that too, not with chips or something, but with Chinese food or eating out or my period.

period is pretty much over. weighed myself after 40 minutes in the sauna at 140F and i am up 4lbs still.  :grr: I am really cutting back the calories this week and next (and also the miles with tapering and sauna sitting) to hopefully lose a few more lbs by race day. Don't judge. I am trying to get a lot of protein and am making an exception and am eating greek yogurt and will probably buy some eggs from DD's school's chickens and have some egg whites.

I am so glad I've never done a race that required a weigh-in.

Slept in this morning, or tried to, at least. I took cough syrup last night before bed and actually got some good rest. But then the "take my temp/get up to run" alarm went off and I took my temp and then rolled over to get some more rest...

...and promptly started hacking. Poor DH was really nice about it, too.

Debba, I hope you feel better soon!

Meri, no one here is judging AT. ALL!!! :) You rock. And you inspire everyone here.

meri, if we did judge you, we would only find good things.  Do what you need to do to be where you need to be -- but you're great by me.

Thanks, tricia! I'm going to the gym tonight - we'll see how it goes. Definitely taking the inhaler, just in case.

They just wrote it on my medical release form thankfully  :D  I do not know why they had to weigh us.  I was not expecting it.

weird. was it oddly hot? what is worse? knowing you are going into a weigh in or not knowing? LOL!!! Since i have been agonizing over it for  a year, probably better off not knowing :D Only one other race I did was I weighed in, none of the other ultras weighed us, a couple had optional weigh ins for your general knowledge in case you were concerned about losing/gaining weight during the race. If you lose or gain too much weight, it can indicate different issues, so i understand why, but ugh.

Well, hell. I'm going to have to call the doctor in the morning. The cough, while helped by cough syrup, is still hanging around, as is the chest tightness. It's difficult to take a full breath - not painful, but my chest feels heavy and tight, though the heavy could be attributed to the boobs. :D And taking a full breath sends me into a coughing fit. The inhaler is only a minor help. I'm also freaking exhausted - seriously, it's not quite 8 yet, and I'm seriously thinking about taking my medicine and going to bed once Reid is down. I'm attributing that to not being able to get quite enough oxygen.

Dammit, dammit, dammit.

Don't worry, I'm not in imminent danger or anything.
