 :panic:

I have clutches for Nadra, bags for Mini, and bridesmaid stuff for Lanarkshire (who I need answers from, but she isn't responding on fb).  Shit, dawg, I should take a week off to sew :D

Don't worry, I'll get them done.  But I'm glad you said something, Nadra.  I definitely thought I had at least another full month on yours.   :yikes:

I went for a run at 6:30 this morning. I know this is nothing special for some of you, but I never run early. Since it's going to be 100 degrees here today and I work until 8 pm, I figured I had to get it done early or it wouldn't happen. So, happy about that.

I had my last bit of grape nuts for breakfast, and an iced latte, and strawberry sandwiches for lunch. Leftover pasta pesto with chicken for dinner and a smoothie for snack sometime (possibly now).

Nadra, no stress eating allowed! Stress-running, that's the ticket! :D

Mini, yay on the sundress from last year!

Good job VP

I never ever rinse quinoa.

I ran 15 miles (5 + 10) and want to eat a horse. I just ate a bowl of beans, rice and seitan. Yum.

Eek!  I totally had your wedding, in my head, for August!!  I better GET ON IT with the clutches!!!

Yeah, my wedding is July 7th.  There are two other CH weddings in August, so maybe that's why you had it in your head?

Hee hee, it was on my list to contact you about that today or tomorrow.  Now I don't have to!

Off to pick up my dress.  I am going out for sushi and a movie with one of my bridesmaids tonight, so that should be fine.  One thing that's great about sushi for me is that when I'm full, it stops tasting good to me so I don't overindulge.  Miso soup and one or two rolls will be a nice dinner.  I'm also going to stop and get salad stuff and berries (4 for $5!) and red peppers (3 for $1!!) at Sunflower Market.  Oh how I love that place.

I made an AWESOME salad today.

Grilled chicken breast
romaine lettuce
tomatoes
pepitas
dried cherries
hemp hearts
"dressing" of flax oil and lemon juice. Abit of sea salt.

O.M.G.

The only thing that would make it better would be feta or chèvre.

The chicken with the hemp and flax oil make it even more filling. And you get lots of good omega something somethings.  :D

Somebody just gave me a box of fancy bakery cookies!   :panic:   12 cookies at 65 calories per cookie =

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues

Ooooh!  I'll have to look locally to see if I can find them, or just order them.  Yay!  I love recommendations.

Nadra, I'm sure that is exactly what I was thinking!  :D  They go together quickly, so I should be able to knock them out easily.  I shall ban myself to my sewing room tonight until they are AT LEAST cut out and interfaced.

I've dodged the chocolate for today, at least. Just have to get through tonight, but I have another training session, so I should be safe.

I've seen them at Sprouts. Do you have that there? They also have it at our regular grocery store, in the gluten free section.

65 calories?  I can beat that!

My mom sends me some really good iced cookies from a company called Cheryl's for, I swear, every holiday (halloween, christmas, easter. st. pats, 4th of july, birthday).  I'm 37 yo, btw :)

Each cookie comes in at 200 calories each!

aw, sorry RA

I meant to answer the question about quinoa earlier -- it is better to rinse it b/c the grains are coated with saponins which are bitter flavored to deter animals from eating them (like birds).

Yes, I forgot to rinse the last quinoa I made and I did not like the taste.

huh. i never noticed any bitter taste to my quinoa. You are also supposed to rinse brown rice, i do not, but i often soak it overnight.

my week has been good food and running wise. I did get on the scale, but only after 10 miles in 100+ degrees and i liked the number i saw :D i think my period is coming a day early today. Makes me scared, cause this could mean there is a very slight possibility of it coming DURING Badwater  :e) and you know, i am in white top to bottom. There is a phenomenon of women getting their periods early during long distance events. Please do not make me one of these women. My runner in 2008 was one of these women and we had to wash her clothes in the bathroom along the course in the sink.

:yikes:  oh no Meri! Well here's hoping it does not come during the race.

Alright. So I am really happy to say my eating is on track. I am so proud of my discipline! I am down 3 pounds since I started my new way of eating 2 weeks ago. The key is planning. I know in the morning what all my meals are going to be the rest of the day. HOWEVER. I can't get motivated to get out there and RUN. I have new shoes. I have my gym bag packed. But I can't get my ass out there.

WHAT TO DOOOOO???

tricia, congrats on the eating well!  you should be very proud.

Could it be that you need to pick a different activity to get the exercise part jump-started?  Once you found the eating plan that made sense it worked (b/c it made you feel better); maybe you need to take the same approach with exercise?

WHAT TO DOOOOO???

Some ideas ...

1.  Plans with a running buddy (or any buddy willing to meet you for a run)
2.  Sign up for a 5k either to motivate training or just to make you get out there and do the run (nothing wrong with a run/walk if you're not totally there yet) (and if you are way beyond 5k just sign up for whatever distance makes sense!)
3.  Arrange things so that you have to run to get somewhere.  I.e., get dropped off at work and plan to run home, tell your SO you'll run to the farmers market and meet him there for a shop, that kind of thing.
