Good idea - I just got an email from Land's End, too, about a sale. Yay!

Caito is wise :) I am dressed and waiting for DD to get in the stroller. She'd rather watch tv, where are her priorities????  :D

Welcome VP!   Cruises are a great wake-up call.  It's practically impossible to maintain/lose on a cruise.

I want to strip naked and roll around in those potatoes.  I'm gonna make some this weekend, with garlic-infused olive oil.  I'm salivating already!

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues
Mini is so smart!

Yeah, I think the average weight gain on a cruise is 10 pounds? I read that somewhere. I can totally believe it.

Poor girl.  J had a UTI a few months ago.  I took her out in the stroller and brought along a blanket.  It's easy to get the chills when you have a systemic infection and the movement from the stroller seemed to trigger that.

I hope she feels better quickly with some abx on board!

I knew I had to change things before the cruise, but I was not going to worry about it until after. I only gained 2 lbs on the cruise itself, but I gained more than that since January. It's not too bad, but it's a trend I need to reverse. Plus, it's not just the weight, my body fat % has shot up too.

I had half a salad with chicken for lunch. Will have the rest around 4:30 or so, so I'm not hungry when I drive home and blow off the run. (I tell you what, seeing those numbers on the scale makes me less likely to blow off the run!).

Poor Z! My little niece who is only 15 months already has had 2 UTI's. Are some people just prone to them? I have never had one.

It's funny, the number on the scale doesn't work as motivation at 5 AM, at least, not for me.

VP, yes.  I believe some people are more prone to them.  And young girls tend to get them when they're potty training because they don't always understand the importance behind the good hygiene we try to teach (no pun intended) or don't have the fine motor skills to implement sometimes.

I am with you on that. 5 am is the absolute earliest I do not consider 'not yet morning'. Funny thing is, it used to be 6:30 and I now usually get up around 6.

Diablita, my niece is still in diapers! I feel bad for her, though apparently it doesn't really bother her.

It can also be an issue in diapers, if they're not changed relatively promptly.

this is what the dr said-- poor wiping skills + bathing suits + bubble baths. She was very upset over no bubble baths :( DD has been potty trained for almost a year, but lately, has been more independant with wiping, etc, even at school, she uses the bathroom on her own, will tell them to check her wiping a little more.

we did get out in the stroller. i had to kinda force her out, but she enjoyed it and ate handfuls and handfuls of black raspberries. I could not pick them fast enough!

When we went to Vegas for our wedding, we were there for about a week and i gained 10lbs, even with all that walking!!!! and i do not even eat meat!

I do not care for salty food, and I do not care for water retention.

The potatoes themselves would do me more harm in the water retention dept than the salt. I don't find much difference in salt I add to my food. Soy sauce, for some reason, seems to really cause me to bloat up. That and anything high in stach (which makes sense). But, table salt notsomuch. I guess I'm just fortunate. The good thing about making a recipe is that you can adjust the salt to your liking. I LOVE salt.

I love salt, but when I eat things high in sodium and preservatives, I retain water like nobody's business. >:(

I get super lightheaded without enough salt in my diet.  But I also sweat like a hog ... literally, my sweat puddle will out gross men double my size in any spin class I take.  I guess that I just assumed Icecream (with her running) would have no salt issues at all.

But Run Amok, I agree with you totally on the carbs.  My tummy bloat from too much bread or sweets isn't really cured by a good run.  Same for Aleve for whatever reason.

I'm sweaty like that too :D  What can ya do?

Getting too much salt is not even a remote concern for me, since my BP is always really low (like sometimes too low) and I sweat so damn much.  And potatoes don't seem to be an issue for me, and are really my main form of carbs/starch right now.  So you can pry them out of my cold dead hands!

I do not sweat a lot, but the only thing that really bloats me up is Chinese food and i am not sure it is just soy sauce because we use a lot of shoyu (fermented soy sauce) at home.

I sweat like a pig, and turn bright freakin' red when I exercise, too.
