Okay, so I stood up for myself. Told him he was being creepy, I was off-limits and he KNOWS that, so cut the shit out, and if he ever did it again, I was never coming back. Lord Almighty. I am drained. Stupid men.

I'm also PMSing, so he's lucky I didn't just whack him across the head with a weight bar.

Oh, and he and the fiancee are on a break, as of Sunday, whatever the eff that means.

He gave me an opening, so I took it. I probably would have tried to pretend it didn't happen otherwise. :-[

Thanks, y'all. I really do appreciate the support - I'm horrible about standing up for myself, even though he was being outrageous.

Meri, I didn't get up, either. I don't know why not - I vaguely remember the alarm going off, and I must have turned it off, but I don't remember. Next thing I knew, it was 6. DH said he didn't sleep well last night, so maybe it disturbed me, even if I didn't realize it. *shrug* I hope you're able to get through today!

Lesson learned: use a backup alarm. :) As much as I hate it, I think I'm going to shoot for getting up at 5 tomorrow, too, just to try and get some momentum going. I can take a nap tomorrow when Reid does, at least.

Last night I went to a bably shower, and since I had no idea what was in any of the food, I stuck to fruit & veggies, some cheese and meat from a tray, and a slice of ice cream cake :D  Which was FUCKING DELICIOUS.  I didn't eat the middle crunchy part, since it probably had gluten.  I suppose I should double check the cake, but typically ice cream itself is good.

So this weekend my MIL and SIL are coming over for a sewing party.  I don't really want to mention the gluten thing, since I'm only experimenting with it, and if this turns out to not be the problem, I don't want them forever saying shit like 'Oh, Courtney can't have that'.  WHich they will.  I lost significant weight about 10 years ago now, and they both like to still say things like "Since you can't eat hamburgers..." just becasue there were times when I chose to eat a veggie burger, or skip a burger in lieu of something else.  It's SOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying.

OMG, I'd  :fiery: anyone who talked like that to me, especially 10 years after the fact! WTF? Gah! Some jackass in the elevator yesterday looked at what I was carrying (a Diet Coke and a small pack of Skittles) and said, "I hope that's not your lunch." I said no, it was a snack for later, and he said, "Good, because that doesn't look very healthy."

Lucky for him, the elevator ride ended about then.

Since the ball is in your court for food prep. can you just be sure to have plenty you can eat and little enough of stuff you can't eat that they won't notice you are passing it by?  What time of day?  Need menu prep. help?

:fiery: indeed!!!  What the hell, dude?  I hate, hate, hate commentary on what I'm eating.  I mean, it's one thing if my friend is all "whatcha having for lunch?" but it's different when someone says something like they've placed judgement on what you are eating.  "Oh, I don't eat bananas, they have too many carbs."  That shit makes me want to say "You know, you probalby don't need carbs for sitting around on your ass all day, but I do stuff, so fuck off!"

Seriously, I could rant about this a long time!

Last time my MIL said "Courtney, what can I get you since you don't eat burgers?" I tried to remember that she was being nice (offering to get me something different) so I just sweetly said "Oh, Linda, I love a good burger!  As long as I have ketchup, I'm golden!"  But FFS, because one time, a few years ago, I opted for a healthy veggie burger does not mean I don't ever eat burgers.  If I were vegetarian, it would be different, because I truly wouldn't eat them, but that's not the case.

When my SIL does it, I don't take it as well.  Because she's totally being all "Courtney just likes to be different/difficult".  Or at least that's how it seems to me :D

It's an all day deal!

I was actually thinking maybe we'd do a baked potato bar type thing for lunch.  Then I can set out sandwich stuff, too, and either make a lettuce wrap sandwich, which will certainly seem weird, but I can pass it off as trying to save calories or something.

We'll probably have out snacky stuff too, but I'll set out veggies and fruit, so I should be ok there.  And maybe I'll get corn chips & salsa.

But I'm TOTALLY open to ideas!  :)

I tease coworkers about their food. One of the undergrad boys eats things like 3 burgers from McDonalds for lunch...I tease him for his "nutritious" lunches. I hope people don't think I am being an asshole.

There's a difference between teasing and what I'm talking about, trust me.  I'd guess that he is also far less sensitive about that stuff than I am.  :D

Considering what he eats I don't think he is sensitive at all.  :D

Most guys don't seem to be.  :D  Especially college aged guys who probably burn eleventy billion calories each day just by existing.

This was also someone I'd never seen before in my life. WTF? We used to give a guy at the law office a ration of shit for his lunches, because he'd eat like 3 burgers or something, and the little fucker was skinny as a rail.

My boss's admin assistant will take a slice of cake, when we have some in the office, and then scrape all the icing into the trash because, "that's where all the triglycerides are."  ???

I confess, I've thought about diving into the trash and saving the icing.

:D

My thought, and I will tell people this when they start giving me diet advice, is that if I'm going to have cake, I'm going to have fucking cake.  Now, I don't like cake, so I might only eat the frosting, but it's not because of some health concern.  :D  Mostly, I don't give a shit what other people eat, I just want to punch someone when they tell me they know better than I do.  Because in like 99% of these encounters, they are spouting fad diet bullshit, and this also makes me think I'm smarter than they are in general (I'm kind of a dick like this).

This is totally different from when I'm asking for info/advice.  Please don't mistake my assholishness about this as an unwillingness to listen to others.  But the second I get unsolicited advice when I'm innocently eating my lunch or snack, I want to throat punch a motherfucker.

As I read this, I realize I may be over-reacting :D  Or over-sensitive.  Something.  This probably shouldn't rile me up the way it does!

FTR:  I've never actually punched anyone, in the throat, junk, or any other location.

I think people who comment on others' food choices are assholes.  Sorry, but "nutritious" sounds judgmental.

Well it is judgemental.  ;) Who lives on a diet of burgers? He is lucky he doesn't have vitamin deficiency.
