Excellent! I'll have to try that with the next smoothie. Thanks!
Talk to me about putting oatmeal in smoothies. How do you do it? Does it have to be cooked first?
I am channeling my inner Nancy Clark and I know that she would say 400 calories to fuel 2 runs in the morning is not enough. How many total miles? She would advise to eat more in the morning since you need to fuel your whole day. Then later on in the day, eat less. If you don't fuel enough, your body will hang on to every calorie it gets.Following Nancy's plan, I will have eaten about 1200 calories by noon if I wake up at 6am to run 5-7 miles. (This terrified me at first because it seems like a TON!) Total for the day 2,000-2,200 (based on my height/age/weight/activity level at work) I'm not hungry at night now and the weight is coming off.
i grind it in the blender first into a powder, then put everything else in and blend if i ate 2000 cals/day i would be an elephant! I am running 8-10 miles on average, total, sometimes closer to 12. Maybe I will aim for closer to 600 calories. I am also always hungry, so i try to space out my food, but maybe i should try eating less often and more each time? I can easily pare down dinner to fewer calories, my dinners are 3/4 steamed veg.
Have you ever experimented with feeding your hunger and spending time away from the scale and calorie counting. I am sure it would be scary but you are already so frustrated and the idea of you running running running and being hungry all the time is painful to just read about. I am sure you would still eat whole healthful foods but what if you let yourself eat enough of them? After your race maybe? A one month experiment?
Where's the chocolate?
