Day 11 of turbo fire and it is still kicking my butt but I really enjoy the workouts.  Sadly, I also gave up my beloved diet coke 11 days ago and I miss it dearly :sigh: I've been eating good but the scale isn't moving like I had hoped but I'm just going to keep trucking...what my other option? Just give up and be happy over weight? NFW :grr:

diet soda is bad for you, weight loss or not!

up at 5am today, slept like a rock and DD, so far, has slept thru the night. I am not really hungry, so not sure if i will eat before my first run. Ultrasound at 9am, have to bring DD along  :eyeroll: no pain upon waking, hopefully no pain upon running, esp since i got out of bed so early.

Dh overthinks things and instead of realizing he is being treated like bottom man on totem pole (which he is), he takes is super personally and beats himself up over it and gets really down on himself. resumes are out there, here's to hoping he can find something. right now our benefits are 100% paid for and we have the #1 insurance possible. My friend has the same insurance and pays $1500/month as her cut. It is VERY expensive stuff. We got very lucky.

Every time I read something about people's lives being dictated in some way by insurance it makes me so upset... we need a better system in this country!

story of my life!!!!!

from the research i did via Dr Google, if it is embedded, it can still be effective and left in for a while. Which would be my preference with Badwater 88 days away (or something like that). But the whole insurance thing is the kicker. ugh. i've only had it for 3 years, so it could feesably stay in for 2-3 more years (in other countries they use the mirena for 7 years, not 5 like here, can we say $$$$$??????). But I want it out. But bad enough to have surgery now? i dunno. gotta see my options. The midwife did say (who is a triathlete) that it would be little to no downtime, but i do not always believe that.

oh and i did the TM for 70 minutes this morning, and then weights. Second run at 11:30 before work. Ultrasound at 9am. Preschool yoga in the middle there.

I have a plan! I have to figure out how to pay for it, but I'll talk to DH about it at lunch. I need his help and support for it to work, but I have a plan, at least!

If I work out in the morning for 95% of the days between Sunday and June 1st, I get a half-day at a spa in town.

I just have to get DH on board.

95% of every day, or of every planned workout day?  Don't forget to rest on purpose sometimes :)

Having a plan is good.  I've got to clean up my food habits, again.  I need a plan as well.  I, however, am not giving up diet soda  :D  A-S, you are a better woman than I!

If I worked out 95% of every day, I'd do nothing else! :) So, if there are 45 days, I have to work out 40 of them. I don't think there are that many days between now and June 1st, though. Need to count.

1!

I'd have to see a really compelling reason, and I haven't seen it yet.  I'm drinking a diet mountain dew RIGHT NOW  :D

I have given it up mostly. We had a thread in the CH about it and I gave it up after that.  January maybe? We do not buy it or keep it at home and I only drink it if we go out to eat which is pretty rare.  Once a month maybe.  I love it so much but I know it is bad for me.   :(

Good luck debba!  Last night in yoga I was thinking maybe I should try to get up in the am with you.  But then I came to my senses  :D

I gave up junk food and soda for Lent and I've been able to dodge it since, too - the beginning was hellish. Now I'm over it.

I am shitting myself today.  So freaking nervous and so much to get done still.
I talked to the kids about mommy being gone running for 2 days, and I know they didn't understand but it made me tear up.  I probably need to have a good crying session and then be OK.  I'm sure I'll be distracted while I'm gone and that will help.

Baked oatmeal w/blueberries & peaches for breakfast....yum.  Caramel cupcake....yum....  Making baked chicken pasta for dinner....yum.  And as much DFW as I can stand.

you know that i recently went to a race and left DD for the first time. I bawled my eyes out the whole way to the airport, but it was good to get away for the first time in 3 years. She has, though, had separation anxiety issues since and i know once she is feeling better, i have a race in may where i will be gone 2 days and it will start all over again.....

i had a stress fracture in 2000 and reading that diet soda can leach calcium from your bones, that freaked me out. also, it is just a bottle of chemicals. I was a hard core diet soda addict (mt dew and dr pepper) and it was hard, but i gave it up 7 years ago. i only drink soda (not diet) at races.
Watch out, Meri, I might take you up on it! :)
i would not have offered if i did not think you would :) and anyone else, too. I am 99% reliable :D

Second run for the day is done and today i am REALLY hungry. Gotta head into work now though with lunch #2 and some snacks :)

oh and DH called while i was on the Tm and he said the best job prospect for him won't pan out for a few months and that he may just stay where he is and not to worry about surgery and when to have it if i need it. From the research i did, it can wait. I would prefer to wait until after Badwater, unless i could fit it in right after my 24 hour race in a few weeks.
