My first attempt at track racing went “ok”. I had fun and found out I’m not a sprinter. I knew this before, but wanted to try a race with a block start.
I would like to actually train for one of these in the future and see if I can keep a better pace. This time, I was fighting off some tightness before the race and couldn’t match the pace of the leaders in the 1500. Well at least not after I led out the first 200
I did hang on for 2nd in my age group in the combined field.. Good results but I’d like to see if I can fare better by not going so hard so early.
Over all for the day I probably had 6 k for the day with warmups and all.
