R2D2?

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

That's 5 different decades running sub 3 for the marathon. I first my run sub 3 in 1983 (and did another that year) but didn't run another until the very end of 1999. It's been on my bucket list since 2020, but that was pandemic year of course. Ran 3:02 in 2021, 3:00 last spring, and yesterday made another attempt.

How did it go?

Super windy day as a large weather front has moved through the continent. Gave it my best shot and was on 2:58 pace through 23 miles when we turned directly into a 20 mpw headwind on the stretch, and I couldn't hold on.  3:01. I'm going to make one more attempt next year. Seem to do better at the half and 15K than marathon.

Thanks for the explanation, Coyote.  :P

Sorry the weather was not ideal. Good luck at your next try.

I'm usually in the 60-70 percentile of my AG in the marathon, while in the 70-80 percentile in the 5K/10K.  Haven't done an inbetweener distance for a while.
