YOLO'd the first half in 59:51 and then "died" to come home in 1:01:18.  We're pretty damn close to doing this without rotating pacers and flying Vs.  Unfortunately the only guy in that ballpark is...my age

He's the marathon GOAT alright. Supposedly wants to win all 6 World Marathon Majors but has not run Boston on NY. So maybe some wins there before he hangs it up.

Should also be noted that Tigit Assefa ran 2:15:37 for the 3rd fastest women's time ever. Interesting trajectory, was a 2:00 800 runner as a junior and won a U20 medal for Ethiopia. Ran in the 2016 Olympics in the 800. Disappeared for a few years, and this year has been running world class 10K-HM times.

Meanwhile in London, Kenya’s Amos Kipruto won for the first time, finishing in 2:04:39. 

In the women's race, Yalemzerf Yehualaw’s become the youngest winner of the London Marathon, even with a face plant over a speed bump at 20 miles. Her victory, in 2:17:25, was the third fastest time ever in the women’s race, and an Ethiopian record.

Joan Benoit Samuelson, the first Olympic women’s marathon champion in 1984, ran her first 26.2-mile race in three years at Sunday’s London Marathon and won her age group. . Benoit Samuelson, 65, clocked 3 hours, 20 minutes, 20 seconds to top the women’s 65-69 age group by 7 minutes, 52 seconds. She took pleasure in being joined in the race by daughter Abby, who crossed in 2:58:19. JBS has a replacement knee.

and 5th for Kenny B in 2:05+ for a new master's WR.  Pretty solid, but for all of his big talk lately about being the best and challenging the open WR, somewhat underwhelming.  I know he had some injury interruptions in this cycle, but shaving off 10+ seconds per mile will be a tall order at age 42 no less.
