Does anyone have resources/recipes for making it without a scoby to start with?

I made it years ago.  Used a regular internet recipe.  Had a scoby after 1 month that I reused several times. Then I found out that kombucha is not healthy for my teeth, so I stopped making it and threw the scobis out.  But it was fun making it.

you don;t need any special tea, just any black tea.

Ah, that was a mistake. I mean the kombucha. I don't know if I'll be able to find that.

Somewhat related…I had no idea there was alcoholic kombucha. I’m not a fan of the regular kombucha, but the flavored alcohol ones are good. It’s like a wine cooler for millennials.

Not recently, no. I just found a place in town with kombucha last week though. I can start making a scoby this weekend.

I finally finished a batch of kombucha! And it's great. We're leaving for two months but the fridge will be on... I'm going to try saving the scobys in the fridge.
