Any other quarantines Jonesing for fried food?
« on: August 27, 2020, 10:24:07 PM »

Never going to restaurants because we’re of that age that Covid particularly relishes, we finally broke down and fired up the cast iron pot with a load of oil. I can feel my shin softening. My wife’s two toned hair appears to be shining. It may be a miracle!

Belated reply, but hell yes!  I fried up some double-breaded cod fillets (very fresh) in safflower oil a while back, and they were delicious!  That prompted me to buy a huge jug of safflower oil for our rarely used deep-fryer for future fried delicacies...like fried chicken.

That looks scrumptious, gl!

I ordered onion rings at the pub the other day. I haven't had those in DECADES!

I have definitely cut down on my fried food consumption now that I hardly ever go to restaurants. Maybe I'll fry up some goodness this weekend at home.
