Can you substitute saltines for matzo meal?

I am seeing varying reports, I wanted to try matzo ball soup but dont feel like waiting a  week for my next store trip. I can wait if it will ruin it.

I think it couldn't hurt to try - you'll get a knaidel, just maybe not quite a matzo ball.  Do you trust any of your neighbors enough to post and see if they have matzo or matzo meal?

I live in a condo association that is 95% Jewish. I am sure I'd find matzos here no problem!
