As the running world turns. Coach Brad Hudson has now joined up with Rogue Running in Austin and he's back to coaching marathoner Allie Kieffer.

Interesting circle of events. A year and a half ago, Kieffer and Hudson were all the talk, as he shut down his long-time training group in Boulder to focus on her development--rumors abound about that--but then she had a series of injuries and left Hudson. At about that time she was interviewed by Rogue. Co-founder and spiritual guru of Rogue Steve Sisson subsequently left the program and podcast to strike out on his own. Hudson and Kieffer wandered in the wilderness on their own, for many months as well as Sisson.

Now Hudson and Kieffer are working together again. Don't know if Hudson is full time in Austin now, or splitting between there and Boulder. Good podcast interview this week with Hudson. And Sisson has started a new program and podcast: Running on Purpose (worth a listen).

And Kieffer appears to be back in training in time for the Olympic Trials next month.
I'll stick to running, thank you.

Wow, that is quite a turn of events. In one of her RR interviews, Kieffer intimated that she thought her injuries were partly his fault. I can remember where I was running (by my office) when she said it: she needed someone who was strong enough to tell her not to run when it wasn't a good idea was essentially what she shared. I was surprised and a little disappointed at her throwing shade his way on a podcast.

It sounds like I'll see Allie in Atlanta.  I'll be incredibly shocked if she makes the team.

DOUBLE double letters!  That's got to be worth extra credit, so she'll probably find a way.  But my college teammate is going to set a 20 minute PR and win the race, so she'll be fighting for the rest of the podium  :runner:

Not sure where you're getting double double letters from?  (not that there's any validity to that anyway)

aLLie kieFFer?  Randy was the one who was on about that theory.  Granted Randy also had a few screws loose.

Ah, you didn't mean in the same name.  Yeah it's kind of ridiculous.
