5.5 mile run on lunch hour.
Absolutely glorious weather.
As I was running I saw an elderly woman in her fenced in yard with a beautiful tan and black german shepherd dog sitting nicely at her heel. I looked at the woman and said 'that is a beautiful dog'. She looked sort of distressed and told me that it wasn't hers! She was outside doing yardwork when this dog showed up on the sidewalk in front of her fence "looking lost". She invited her into her yard where the pup took up station at her heel. The dog didn't have a collar on but didn't look maltreated or emaciated or anything like that. Probably just slipped out of it's collar and went for a walk?
The woman called the animal control officer and they were on their way to pick the dog up. She was so friendly. She let me pet her and then licked my face. The dog I mean, not the woman...
I might actually call the police/animal control tomorrow to see if anyone ever calls in looking for this dog. I already have 2 rescues but if no one claims this animal I truly want her.
