Good Friday 10K Race.
First race shorter than Marathon distance after marathons in Bahamas in January and D.C. three weeks ago. Hoping to get under 50 minutes on this somewhat hilly two loop course. Temps were just above freezing, with moderate winds arriving at the race site. Decided to switch to shorts from light tights to shorts because of the sunny skies above, but wouldn't you know it, the clouds moved in coming out of the change room at the High School race venue. Still a decent choice for short though. 5K started 10 minutes before us, so a bit of a weave around the slower 5Kers from 2-5K.
Had a negative split 26:36.7 first half and 24:16.2 second half for a finishing time of 50:52.9. 47th out of 150 overall, 31/76 male, 5/22 M50-59.
