Marathon dream
« on: February 22, 2016, 12:08:42 PM »
Im registered for my first full in 10 years, on May 1.  I guess I'm having some anxiety.

I had a dream last night where the start time kept getting changed and I was worried about getting there on time. Plus, I didn't bring the correct shoes.
Then, it's just the ol' squat, catch and pitch...--Makeda

I've had a couple dreams about starting a marathon late.  But then realizing that it ain't like the old days and we're all chipped, so esentially as long as I start and finish w/in the 5 or 8 hour race window, I'm golden.

The Merigayle Marathon by any chance? I am considering doing that if I feel up to it after the full I am doing in March.

I've had marathon anxiety dreams. One that stands out is where I'm looking for the porta potties. Then coincidentally I wake up and have to pee. I remember another where I'm basically lost on the course or started in the wrong place altogether.

FYI: i finished a marathon on Sunday on a longest run of 10 miles, and I was under 5 hours.  Nothing like the old days, but I was better trained then.

Lots of bad race dreams, where I show up in jeans and sandals or something.

I also once dreamt that I won the Boston Marathon.  I was having a good day (obviously) and for some reason around mile 20 I could see the leaders and just started sprinting and flew by them and won!  The dream did not last long enough for the inevitable inquisition (who the hell is this guy?)
