I've given this consideration in the beginning but I leave for work really early (0520) since I have a long commute ahead of me but I will give it a shot. Thanks for the replies.
You might also want to try having a mid-afternoon snack 3 hours before you run. I've found this gives me more energy to run after work.
Also, have you increased the amount of running you are trying to accomplish by a lot recently, rather than by a little bit?
Black coffee before a run usually gives me some jump.

They're not really worth it unless you're running a half marathon or longer, I don't think.You might just need a snack and more water earlier in the day before your run. Or caffeine as suggested.How far are you running? Are you running every day or taking rest days? Cross training?
I try running between 1 and 2 miles three times a week; mostly monday, wednesday, and friday in order to have some resting periods in between.
How long do these runs take to complete?
