So, I'm an admitted cookie batter eater. I spent all day yesterday whipping up cookies for our exchange, sampling batter here and there. I woke up middle of the night with tummy cramps that eased up within an hr. and have some mild GI distress this a.m. I figure it was the batter since I didn't eat anything else.
Did baking the cookies snuff out any lingering bad stuff? :fingers:
Please don't tell me I have to toss all I made. :(
I also just read that it could be the flour rather than the eggs that might cause issues - raw, of course. Reports seem to indicate that once baked, the issues resolve.

If you would like me to, I am willing to eat a bunch of the cookies and report back to you with the results.

The culprit is usually the eggs and 5es baking the cookies solves the problem.

:dancecat: AWESOME!! Thanks, MM! :)

The concern with cookie batter is salmonella. Eggs either have it or they don't. It's fairly rare. But... it could happen. If you had salmonella, you would know. Baking exceeds a kill temp (165) so you're fine.

I know ... but in this case, it does help narrow down the causes. [oink!]
