Weights plus 2.9 miles
-
11.75, hot.
-
3 miles. Hot and hotter still these next days.
-
6 miles on a combination of roads and trails. Sunny, 85°.
-
Half marathon race.
Hot, humid, sunny, hot, humid and hot. Did I mention it was hot?
I had my lucky hat with ice under it and a water bottle with ice water in it.
The ice was gone by mile 4. The sun wasn't.
First 4 miles at about 8:40 pace, next 8 miles at 10:22 pace, closing 1.1 at 9 flat.
The strong last mile got me home in just under 2:08.
Year's first run over 10 miles, so it's all good.
Time to resupply the carbs with chicken strips and curly fries. Urp.
-
nice racing, PA. Congrats!

Yoiks, I hope you started at four am!
It is disgustingly hot and humid in the Sconnie Naton today.

My last CH RR.
Pikes Peak (Colorado) Ascent (6300 to 14,100 ft, 13.3 miles)
3:14:02, 73/1800 or so, 3rd in age class.
'bout the hardest thing I've ever done.

8.1 miles including:
3-mile warm up
5 x 1000 meters with 3-minute rests
2-mile cool down
Hot day for speedwork, and I missed most of my times by a few seconds. On the fourth interval, 3 thugs on bikes rode up right behind me, and one of them screamed in my ear and thought it was funny. I was too exhausted and startled to do anything, which was probably a good thing.
Congrats PA. Raj--amazing performance.

Great, PA
4 miles on the treadmill, inside. I hate the treadmill, but it was cooler inside.
-
14.5.
I intended to only do 13.
Could've easily kept going to 15. Which now has me thinking that I should just suck it up and train for a marathon.
