I need a breakfast potluck item
« on: December 02, 2014, 12:32:23 PM »
We have our annual lab Christmas brunch next Friday. I normally bring a quick bread but I was thinking savory this year. I need to be able to easily carry it as I take the train and it needs to not need heating as we don't have anything but a microwave. Ideas?

Hands down, the best quiche ever. You can add whatever you want to it.

MM - are you comfortable carrying a casserole dish on the train? If so, I have a recipe at home for berry french toast that doesn't have to be eaten warm/hot.

I would prefer not to...hence why I normally do a quick bread. I would drive in but we will be drinking.

You could also make something and divvy it into smaller containers for easy(ier) transport. My rule is that potluck food needn't be pretty. :D

Yes!  Especially if there is a commute!
