We aren't going anywhere for thanksgiving this year. I am a bit sad about it actually. So deciding what to make for dinner if anything at all. The only other time I have not seen my family on Thanksgiving i had friends over...all of those friends have plans this year. so sad for me. There will only be 2.5 of us so making a turkey is just too much food, unless we can find a dwarf turkey (I like dark meat, so not making only a breast.) Thinking about making sirloin steak. Yum. or maybe a lasagna.
We're going to a friend's house, which is a blessing since I'm not up for the planning (I usually enjoy throwing TDay dinner)I'm making:spiced nutsharicot vertmashed potatoes (have to figure out a way to make them that won't be awful for reheating)pumpkin cheesecake
Pioneer Woman has a recipe for mashed potatoes that has you reheat them in the oven. If I were doing it I would just make them the morning of and stick them in the crock pot to keep them warm, but I guess that depends on how far in advance you want to make them and how far away your friends live. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/11/delicious_creamy_mashed_potatoes/
