Track workout tonight!  We are doing 400m relays: we divide up into even teams of two people, then one runner from each team runs a 400, tags their partner, who runs a 400, and so on, until everyone has run 8 x 400m.  Then we go to dinner and beer.

I did my usual 40-45 minutes at a slow pace but here's the thing. I picked it up for about 6 minutes and 43 seconds on a rare uphill close to where I live and had no problems, other than my legs reminding me I can't do this just yet. 15 minutes after I slowed to a piddling jog, I was seized with violent intestinal cramps and barely had time to skitter to the side of the road and whip down my tights before I blasted a warm and malignant spray of something that would have been feces had it been about 11 times more dense. I looked around, bug-eyed and mortified, because this was not exactly a lightly traveled road and at that time of day there are young kids going to and from school. Fortunately, this time, I was alone and unseen unless you count a few birds, most of which scattered in disgust. I blame the brand of morning tea I just switched to- -- but remind me to shave my nether parts more closely from now on because they were all caked with brown, smelly glop until I could waddle into the shower. Ugh.

Might run a 10K soon.

5 miles... I'm finishing my easy runs about 3 minutes faster than I was 3 weeks ago. And they still feel easy.
