When I had achilles tendonitis, I got bi-weekly massages and focused on my calves, used my stick, did yoga at least once a week, and did eccentric calf raises 3x a day. I feel like nobody on this board ever wants to listen to me when I tell them it's calves, calves, calves. All of the above has also fixed peroneal tendonitis and plantar faciitis.
I do think calf massage by a professional on some semi-regular schedule would be helpful. I should look into that. There is a massage place convenient to me that has good hours and does a good job, at least when I've been there. Way pricey though.
