Or something with a barcode on it that will send you to their Athlinks page

Stamped on their ass or forehead? Perhaps both.

I'd think "runners" would want to do everything they can to encourage others to join in. My experience has always been one of inclusiveness and acceptance. All this business about how affixing stickers to cars having accomplished a certain distance  is somehow wrong really strikes me as the opposite and driven by what could well be your own insecurities.

Affix my friends, affix.

Methinks Johnny has festooned his bumper with inspirational stickers.  I bet that people stuck behind him in traffic are abandoning their vehicles and jogging the rest of the way to work, overcome by waves of encouragement and inclusion.   :sidesplit:

I think the 0.0 is dumb. I get that it's in response to the 26.2, but still.

I find this thread rather hilarious. But then again I have a rather strange--if not warped--sense of humor.

I don't have any, but the next time I see one I'll buy it and affix it. And if I sense any snickering at races or whatnot at least I'll know who the insecure are. And maybe if you are embarrassed to be a runner, well then, just be that way but dont expect anyone else to be.

If I put a 13.1 sticker on my skateboard, will that completely confuse the issue?

I figure there are another 4 days to make azzhat of the year and a thread from out of the blue in running might just be crazy enough to work.

You've reduced yourself to being my editor in freakin Running. I bet there's a sticker for that, eh?

This past summer at the street mile event in Eugene there was a tall, attractive, fitness model type lady in her mid 30s or so (think Carrie Tollefson) walking around who had a tattoo on her shoulder of something like 31:52.  I was wondering if she was a 10k runner and that was her PR, or if it was a bible verse.

Why would you tattoo your PR? You might lower it someday, right?

I think it's #2

Good point but Tollefson is 36 or 37 now, with 2 kids, past PR age. I don't know much about bible verses and don't know if she's into that. She did run low 4s for 1500 to make the the 2004 Olympic team, and I found a link that had her 5000 PR at 15:04. She's definitely more of mid-distance type. She was voted 4th most beautiful runner (as if we knew such a thing even existed!) a few years back. She should have a big 4 on her hip.

We never did do bumper stickers much. In the early 80s I ran for Foot of the Rockies and and they gave me a little sticker (6 or 8") that had a Colorado plate image (the green mountains) that simply said Run. I totalled that car a year later, and that was it other than a couple college stickers here and there.

26.2 or 0.0, whatever. It's no different from I  NY or my dog is an honor student.

I do like Arrojo's 0.062!

Now that this thread is petering out can we talk about how much I hate the people that put stupid stick figure representations of their families (often complete with pets) on their rear windows?
