Wait, what? Eliza is FIVE? WTF? She's like... 6 months old!

That's what I was thinking!  Happy Birthday Eliza!

I'm also jealous of you ladies that go to bed early.  Hell I'm lucky if the kids are in bed at 8:30...it is usually closer to 9 on days they nap.

I did get 4 miles done - 2 outside & 2 on the treadmill.

You know what I'm talking about?

Great.  Now I'm thinking about Cone Head Sundaes...

I was hoping this would be a pic of the DQ. (I heard a rumor it's open year round now!)

The one in GB? That one is ancient. We went there all the time when we were kids.... haven't been there in ages.

No, that one is closed.  Those in Lee, Lenox, and Pittsfield are still open, though.

Hope she's better soon, Meri!

CH babies grow up too quick.  It must be stopped.  I have a hard time believing Bonita's younger daughter is 5!

Big accomplishment - driving to work with my manual transmission car.  It meant 25 minutes of clutching every minute or so, then 15 minutes walking from my parking space.  ROAR!!  This afternoon will be another challenge - walking to the car, driving to PT, walking from parking, then somehow getting home after.

Funny how things I took for granted as an easy day a few months ago are now major accomplishments.  Another big accomplishment this week is stepping in and out of the shower without sitting on the edge of the tub.

Was hungry yesterday without my security blanket of snack crackers, but survived.  I wish I could have a few crackers, but I know once the sleeve is open it's empty.  And heaven forbid I buy a box of crackers with them all jumbled up in one package!

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues

Good for you, Mini!

I took the train to work this morning - it was actually really nice! It's about a 10-minute walk from the station to my office. Not too bad, but OMG, it's sticky and hot out there. Not sure how to deal with that part of things. I guess I'll have to (have to. Hah! poor me) buy some skorts so I can get a breeze but not the chafing. Darn.

Good morning.  I was really good about my eating last night and just felt better overall, even going into this morning.

Today is my dad's birthday and I bought a cherry pie for his 'birthday cake' because he'll love it and I won't.  I'm making food that they love and will probably eat my usual broccoli soup.  Maybe I'll eat like one crash hot potato.

What is a crash hot potato? (oops I see the link now! thanks Diablita)

Mini, good for you...the little milestones add up.

I am still lurking....not posting much.  Doing ok on eating and working out but not seeing movement on the scale. I am not overly worried since I haven't really been dieting per se. I started working with a trainer once a week (I think I mentioned it a while back) and I am really feeling and seeing the results. My shoulder is more and more stable, I am getting some strength back and feeling very good overall. We lift heavy...which I am loving. Lots of squats, dead lifts, and military presses combined with jump roping, fast bursts etc.  My running has improved quite a bit as a result.

Anyway...I hope you all have a good day!  :lambie: (my new favorite smilie or all occasions)

I'm jumping back in too!

When DH and I were on the cruise, we were discussing how we'd both go on a limited austerity package once back, so I had to chuckle at y'all calling it that too. I told him I didn't need to lose any weight per se, just firm up, but that was before I stood on the scale.  :yikes: I am now heavier than I have been since I was 25 (which was my heaviest year ever).

Even before the cruise, I had been drinking lots of soda and alcoholic beverages, and eating chocolate and potato chips like it was going out of style. So no more of that, snacks are now all fruit (easy to do this time of year) and my new rule is that I have to have breakfast. This morning was grape nuts with fresh strawberries and oj.

But the biggest change is that I am running again. Went for the first time since January on Sunday, and will be going again today. I walked/ran and it was slow and ugly and I'm way more sore than I thought I'd be, but getting started is the only way to get back intot he swing of things.

OMG. Those look delicious!!! I must make them!

I resisted the chocolate yesterday and dozed off on the acupuncture table. And then crashed *hard* last night. Something about having needles jammed into my legs seems to wear me out. So I didn't get up this morning, which means I suck. But, I'm going to the gym tonight. And getting up tomorrow, dammit. I'm setting multiple alarms. I'm tired of being down on myself because I didn't get out of bed.  :grr:

Still befuddled by the thought of buying a bathing suit, but I have some time before I have to order, so we'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

I agree about the potatoes!

I also have a hard time exercising in the morning. It's usually not that hard for me to get out of bed, UNLESS I know it is to go exercise. If I can just relax and do my thing for a while, I'm ok. I should just get up an hour earlier so I can have my relaxing out of the way before exercising.  :!:

Yeah, I can get up for work, but there's just something about getting up to exercise... If I were going to get up and relax first, though, that would mean waking up at 4, and that's just bordering on the insane! :D

Good job VP!!!
Go Mini Go!

DD has a bladder infection, no school for her today because of the fever :( I feel bad being so selfish, but i had 15 miles planned for today and moved my schedule all around. oh well. she is going to the neighbor's but not until 2pm. Will try to talk her into a stroller run or if not, me hopping on the TM for an hour. She feels totally fine, but is peeing a lot (accidents too) and has a fever.

I wake up at 5 and get on the TM around 5:30-45, i do like to relax. For my 6am runs on the weekend, i wake up at 5am to spend an hour relaxing, eating, etc.

Order a bunch of different size bathing suits and then send back the ones you don't want.  I do this and find it's far less traumatizing than trying on suits in a store, and less frustrating than ordering 1 suit to discover it doesn't fit.   The credit card statement can look a bit shocking, but it evens out quickly if you return the ones you don't want promptly.
