Western States 100!

WALMSLEYWALMSLEYWALMSLEY!!!  :runner:
14:13 in a hot year - not too shabby!  Of course having company for the better part of the course to keep him firmly in race mode makes a world of difference.

Great race from Katie Schide as well on the women's side, being under Courtney's "unbeatable" course record pace for much of the race and doing it all alone, before fading slightly to 15:47.  Though previously unheard of for women, has sub 16 become the new standard for victory?
Incredible performances for the conditions. The whole day felt like it was waiting for bonks that never happened.  Lots of experience and professionalism at the front that had fuel and 'bad patch management' down to a science.

Magnolia Road has to be the running equivalent of six degrees of Kevin Bacon.  You get to know the Mags regulars and you've got a narrow connection to any elite runner worth knowing  :runner:
