Thanksgiving 11/24 runs
« on: November 24, 2022, 10:49:20 AM »

My slowest 5K ever was also one of my best! I was able to run on my Achilles without pain! (OK after five weeks of not running it was more of a run/walk but still). I kept looking down at my foot suspiciously but it held up.

Next up, I was asked to go to Cuba in a couple of weeks to represent American old guys playing softball against a bunch of Cuban old guys in the Friendship games.  Icing my foot now.  So much to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Just a plain olde 10K this morning in Canada.

One day I need to head down to run the Turkey Trot in Buffalo. 127th running this year. Friend who was running it today said roads were clear, but snowbanks were huge.

First ever Winter Park Colorado Turkey Trot

Advertised “about 5k”

I measured it as just over 4K (they shortened the route a little due to conditions)

12*F overnight, up to around 17*F by the 9:30am start. About 1/4” fresh snow overnight. Roads and paths “mostly” clear of ice

Not a PR, only slipped once on ice (but did not fall). Sub 6:00/km for me.

Top 100 overall got medals and I medaled.
Top 10 got a free beer at the brewery. i did not “podium”.

Fun day in the sunshine. 10km total for me after tacking on some walking and another bit of running
