Saturday was my longest long run of the training cycle.
Let’s call it 29km trail run.
(Strava is saying 26k, Stryd 30k. The truth is in the middle, probably 28 or 29.)
-4C at start, up to about +4 by the time I finished.
By time, it was also my longest “pure” run ever at 4h 5m.
Just a chill zone-one pace, but was able to maintain all morning and stay mid-zone or higher.
I caught a runner, with her dog, and she pulled off trail to let me go by. But I was running iso-power and they had no trouble staying behind me on climbs. (Or catching back up to me). I descended a lot faster than they were. After about 5 minutes I managed to drop them, while *mostly* staying in zone 1
Noticed my HR drifted higher in the 4th hour to maintain that iso pace.
Very happy overall. A little Achilles tightness near the end, and some hip achiness, but nothing major.
It turned in to a beautiful day (once the sun came up) so rode the same course with some friends on Mountain Bikes.
Started when the park opened at 6am, used a light for the first hour. I was done by 12:30.
