Dani Jones goes pro. http://citiusmag.com/citius-mag-podcast-dani-jones-colorado/
If you're not familiar, she's a recent CU grad and heir apparent to her some-time mentor Jenny Simpson. Going to run with Emma Coburn and the "Bosshard Group" (coached by Coburn's husband & teamed up with a group of other top women runners).
I'll stick to running, thank you.

Nick Willis and Mary Cain sign with Tracksmith in a unique deal.

They'll be actual salaried employees--promoting the sport and the product as a job--not just contractors.

Sinclaire Johnson Joins Bowerman Track Club.

Also confirmed by Flotrack the other week, but they even have a paywall for press releases. So won't even give them the clicks.

And I hear they're getting the same salary.  'bout time.

Apples and Oranges but makes sense. Willis has won Olympic medals, but is at the end of his career. Cain greatest female high school runner of all time, went through NOP hell, and trying to make a comeback. Very different stages, but they deserve equal pay.
I'll stick to running, thank you.

“We hired Nick and Mary for their ability to contribute to Tracksmith’s growth, not just for their ability to run fast.”

So while I understand where you're coming from, Mary is the big name right now.  Not to mention the fact that women by more apparel than men.

That's what I was trying to say, even though I hadn't read the press release.

I guess what I'm trying to say, and not very well, is that it's not surprising that they are getting equal pay. As my mom--decades ahead of her time--would say, of course they should equal pay and and it's about time. If anything, Cain is a ways ahead of Willis in terms of being recognized, relatable, and marketable.
I'll stick to running, thank you.

I don't think I said the opposite at all. Willis has had a great career and is on a downward trend at the end of his career. Cain had a great peak as a 17-18 year old and is working her way back. They deserve equal pay. And I said that. Three times now.  (Also, both have interesting but very different stories).
I'll stick to running, thank you.

I just initially thought you were saying they should get parity but on principle even though he's the proven star.  I get it now.

Also new CU grads/NCAA All-Americans McKenna Morely and Ben Saarel have announced they're going pro. No word on any sponsorship signings from Jones, Morely, or Saarel.
I'll stick to running, thank you.
