Joanne is wondering if it is too early to pickle eggs for Christmas.

Sharon says she is after doing up her Christmas pickled wieners the weekend.

Barry, Stacia, Edwina, and Anita all agree that the longer they pickle, the better they will taste.

Glenda wants a recipe for pickled wieners.

Sharon and Christine think the eggs will get rubbery if you do them too soon. They agree this is too soon.  Christine says two weeks before Christmas is perfect.

Debbie says just vinegar and water for wieners.

Dallas says he likes to put jalapenos in with his pickled wieners. He tried habaneros one year but it was too hot.

Joanne thinks she will stick to the eggs and not try hot pickled wieners.

Violet wants a recipe for pickled eggs.

Debbie says just like wieners but with pickling spice too.

Sheree wants a recipe for pickled wieners.

Mildred says boil them and stuff them into a jar, heat up half vinegar and half water with sugar and pickling spice and pour into jar, store in fridge.

Sheree wants to know if Mildred is talking about eggs or wieners and Mildred says either one, ducky.

Tim heats up the liquid from pickled beets and uses it for his eggs.

Glenda wants a recipe for pickled beets.

Mildred says you can pickle anything with her recipe.

I don't know. But you cannot walk into a convenience store in Newfoundland and not find a jar of pickled wieners on the counter, for sale individually.  Most dive bars also have them for sale. Pickled eggs too.

Admittedly, I love pickled eggs. Pickled wieners, not so much.

I liked almost everything pickled...but I can't do eggs and wieners.  The huge jars sitting on the counter in convenience stores are unappetizing.  Now, if someone were to make their own and share with me, then I would try them!

Yes. I feel the same way about hardboiled eggs from a bucket.  :-X I loved pickled anything but I can't get down with pickled eggs that have been sitting in ajar on the counter for god knows how long.

Interesting.  They are pretty common at convenience stores in the south too.

You see them around here too, but only in funky little country store / gas station type places.  I like it when they are made with beets.  Perfect for deviled eggs.

Pickled eggs are fine. I agree with being turned off from the public bucket.

There used to be a really divey bar near Fenway (Fathers Too), they had an ongoing crockpot of hot dogs for a buck each. That was the only food you could get there. I ate one once, with bravado. But only once!
