I hate running on concrete, but it's convenient. I have some zoom-flys but I was thinking of trying some hokas, but I don't know.

I like to do 50-50 off road/on road. don't like concrete much but it's all but unavoidable if you want to be on the bike paths/away from traffic.

I have a pair of Asics Gel Kayano with hex spikes to avoid slipping on ice. I bring those out on winter days when about the only surfaces that are cleared are the concrete bike paths. If I had to run concrete all the time I'd use heavier/or more padded shoes like the Hoka more often.

I use trail shoes for trail running--anything resembling technical beyond a smooth path.

For most normal day to day running I alternate between an average support shoe and neutral light trainer for tempo runs and intervals.
I'll stick to running, thank you.

yes.

trail shoes for dirt
neutral road shoes for pavement
and a pair of old kicks for use with spikes on ice

Not really. All my running is road or light trail. Avoid concrete sidewalks if I can.  Once in a while I will get some trail shoes for winter running if I see a deal on them.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

Yes. Trail shoes for dirt. road shoes for... roads.

I never run on concrete any more because of my artificial hip.  But otherwise, yes of course.  Asphalt - normal running shoes.    Trails - trail shoes.  Track - racing flats for training, spikes for sprint races.
