6 miles slow. I really had no mojo. Weird.

Ran a race today for a workout.  This race comps runners over 70, so this was a chance to get a solid workout.  I didn't do my usual 3 day taper.  There is a major hill in this race, and when I raced this course last June, the hill won.  This result was a really slow time.  Today, I focused on maintaining my stride and making sure I was hitting on my forefoot while going up the hill.  Today, unlike last June, the hill didn't win.  I finished in 29:16 which was over 4 minutes faster than last June.  I was also first in my age group.  With warm up and cool down, the total was 7 miles.

Way to go, Richard.

DH, a friend of his, and I did a 10.2 mile hike, partly on the AT in So. Vermont (aka long trail).
The last part included 12 (!) brook crossings where I had no choice but get my feet and ankles wet. It was very cold water. not pleasant at all.

35K.  Taper time to Mississippi Blues Marathon.  Great temps for a long one.
