Half marathon on the track (52 laps 320 meters with shortness prevention factor)
Really not prepared for this run.
Spent the first part of last week putting in enough miles to get to 100 for August.
Took Friday off because of the storm, took Saturday off because of a long day at work.
Felt blah on Sunday, ate stupid, went out at night for this run and gave up after a mile.
Just didn't have it yesterday, so today is the day.
Today it was low 70s, but cloudy, and light sprinkles showed up for a while.
Thought I could do sub 2 hours, about 9:09 pace. I was about 5 pounds heavier than planned.
First 4 miles at about 8:50, then started taking a walk break every other mile.
About 9:30 when I walked, 9:00 when I didn't.
Started to creeping up to 9:05, 9:10s.
Last walk break after mile 10, had about 40 seconds to spare.
Feet were hurting, right hammy was hurting, left hip was hurting.
Held pace over the last 12 laps and crossed the line in 1:59:28.
First run over 10 miles for this year, so SBs for 11 mile, 12 mile, and half marathon.
Longest run in 103 weeks, seriously, next weekend would have been 2 years since my last half.
Strangely, also a 5 second season best for 8 miles, that has to do with the spacing of the walk breaks.
Good good run. As long as nothing hurts too much tomorrow.
