Headed out before 7am for a time trial. It was already 75 degrees.
And the Canadian forest fires made the air hazy and thick.
After a mile I decided to cut it down to a 5k.
After 2 miles I decided to shut down and try again at night.
So 2 pretty decent miles.
On the way to the track something was running towards me on the trail.
At first I thought it was a cat, then a dog.
Turns out it was a fawn running full bore, no mama in sight.
I stood still and it almost ran me over.
Not sure what that was about.

Ran about 11.5 from 7500 to 9600 ft on trails. It was a decent run to cap off a somewhat disappointing week/weekend. Hip's been bothering me and I'd planned on Vail Hill Climb today, but opted out the other week and ended up taking off three days. So hip is better but didn't get the work I had needed. But whatever, it's good and I'm simply fortunate to be out in the Rockies on a beautiful day.

So I waited until dusk to run in cooler temperatures.
It got down to 80.
Oh well.
7 minute walk to the track.
5 lap jog.
15 minute wait under the eaves of a storage shed as high winds and torrential rains hit
7 minute walk back home through the puddles of water that weren't there when I headed out.
At least I got home before the hail hit.
I'm going to call this workout a fartlek.
