I couldn't bear it any longer.  I was up early enough to get outside before needing to get the kids up for school.  I ran five miles on the roads.  My usual route was mostly covered in packed snow and ice, but the mile leading to it and home were dry (but no road shoulder! eep!)  It felt so freaking good to be on the roads, and my last mile was my fastest.  The whole run was not very fast though.

I am now a bit behind in my marathon training mostly due to not being able to get the mid-week longer runs completed, but I haven't missed a long run yet.  I'm hopeful the weather pattern breaks open in the next week and I can turn this ship around.  I still feel I'm on track, but I hate missing or reducing those midweek runs.

4.5 miles. Don't know yet if my race on Sunday will be cancelled. I may or may not be on taper.

I just ordered a pair of yaxtrax run from ll bean. If they get here tomorrow I'll try them out on my long run on Saturday. I promised the kids I would try NOT to run longass runs on the treadmill in the middle of the weekend day like I did last weekend. Plus I love being finished early.

I have actually just had it with more "things," though. I have had my fill of additional things for running.  No mas!
