Sloppy, slushy 11K.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

I set out for a bit over 4 but I only got 2.5 miles in. Around mile 1 I started walking up a hill(which I haven't done in years) and went about a quarter mile after I started running again and turned around. It sucks but I'm not too bummed out about it, just hoping tomorrow is better!

It was also sloppy and slushy here but the sun was out and it was about 36°F so it was pretty nice weather.

I contemplated this concept quite a bit today.

I walk up hills a lot, even in races. (I do tend to do a lot of races with crazy steep and/or long hills tho). But even on rolling hills, I will often switch from run to power walk to try to maintain iso power.

That said, Saturday I had the same kind of run you described— although i started in earnest and had some fast parts mixed in with zone 1 in the first third — I basically hit the wall and limped (walked) home even though the last part was basically flat.

Still happy with my 15k trail run at 4*C because I still got about 75% of the hardest part of my home trail done… setting up Sunday’s workout…
