Super Bowl food
« on: February 03, 2018, 03:45:59 PM »
What's everyone planning to serve/bring on Sunday?

I'm trying to go with some low carb options, so I'm making wings and maybe some deviled eggs. Possibly an antipasto. And then my BIL is bringing pizza. I think DH is possibly doing a spinach artichoke dip, too.

What do I bring to a party where there’s already gonna be way too much good food? Like, what’s a fun or funny surprise? Funyuns?

Giada says grilled endive!  And a salad bar! Oh, and chicken wings!

Skip the funyons.  Bring candy (like a big bowl of starburst).  Or a great bottle of interesting liqueur.

I have yummy chips and salsa and am making crab dip and fish tacos.  We'll probably be snowed in tomorrow.

I'm bringing homemade dill dip with carrots, celery, orange bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes for dipping.  And a large jar of mixed nuts.

I made a cheese dip that has cream cheese, cheddar cheese, rotel, and black beans.  It's gnarly looking but so good!

Since we just stayed home and watched the game, I also made a huge pot of homemade chicken noodle soup.

I made a paleo version of this by subbing Kite Hill vegan cream cheese spread with jalapeno for the cream cheese and omitting the shredded cheese on top.  I make my own mayonnaise and used a very lime-flavored version made with avocado oil.
It was very delicious.
