5k time trial with the new shoes.
7:50, 7:49, 7:50, :48 = 24:19
Season best by 59 seconds.
The shoes were roomier after I shoved the baseballs in them last night.
I was thinking of going for a 10k at the start, so didn't press.
Changed to 4 miles during the run.
Changed to 5k after i got an ache in my foot.
Could have been 15 to 20 seconds faster if I had targeted 5k at the start.
This run is 10 weeks overdue.
Every time I went after the 5k I found a reason to shut it down earlier.
Asthma reaction closing up throat (legitimate - can't get enough air)
Pain in foot signalling start of injury (me being mental, but has happened before)
Too cold, too windy, whatever.
Finally put it together, as long as nothing is hurt later on.
The question is: will these shoes be ok for 10Ks and halfs?
