Hummus help

I have never made homemade hummus before and I am about to try. However, I have to leave the tahini out of it and have read that this will change the texture. any suggestions on what I might be able to use (or things to do ) to get the texture closer to what it would be if I did use tahini?  (DD#2 is highly allergic to sesame seeds, thus no tahini.)

Can she have any peanut or nut butters? Perhaps that and a little extra olive oil?

what about just making a white bean dip? I made one ages ago that was good. No tahini. I can't remember what was in it besides beans and Olive oil, but nothing too weird as I wouldn't have made it or wanted to buy a one time use ingredient.

No peanut butter.  I suppose i could try nut butters. I was hoping to keep the normal hummus taste, though.  I just want the consistency to be the same as well.  I was told by people IRL, that without the tahini it won't be as smooth and creamy.

You can definitely leave out the tahini if you need to. Use more olive oil (add slowly to taste) so that you don't have a pasty consistency. I feel like nut butters might alter the flavor too much, to be honest.

I would try a little nut butter and more olive oil. I am sure once it is processed in your Vitamix or food processor, the texture should be like home made hummus with tahini.

I've never made it without tahini but it sounds like the principle behind white bean dip but with garbanzos.  The ingredients are relatively inexpensive and it's easy; I'd just try it.  I bet it's delicious.
