My old coach used to say 300 cals/hr. I am always struggling to get enough calories and 100-150/hr is a success for me. In 100 miles if you do not get enough calories you can get really sick, like vomiting. I can always stomach fruit, esp apple juice and put those in my drop bags, but many races have it there.
