Food / Re: Christmas food!

Converting from a recipe in a 9x13 pan to 8x8 has been more complicated than expected.  (I found a similar enough recipe that should have helped, but I think the cook time was way off.  I think the rosemary kalamata gruyere bread pudding is going to be too dry.  I am not doing the sweet one that long & I think it will be better; plus it has a sauce.)  This is why I ran a test kitchen night.  (Although I'll definitely be doing a 9x14 of the sweet bread pudding on Christmas, so I can follow the recipe more closely (aside from using bourbon instead of brandy & adding crumbled maple bacon instead of pecans).

4 miles on the treadmill. I'm on call for work this week so it will be an interesting taper week with one more speed workout on Christmas.

10 miles around 11 AM. It was sunny but chilly at 35°F and windy. I took it relatively easy but 10 miles out here is bound to be hilly and this route was no different..

On mile ten my legs felt noticeably stronger than a few months ago when I did that route.

Two steps up, one step back this week. Despite high winds (wind chill about 1) and ice/snow yesterday I felt fine. Today was much nicer (20-24 sunny and barely a breeze) but I felt cold and terrible. Instead of doing 10 I called it at 5 miles, and a very slow sorry 5 miles at that!

8.2 very icy miles on the rail trail I did manage to throw in some strides and surges on the return.
