Good luck to all.

Will be on the lookout - glad you posted this! I'll probably be wearing my Oiselle singlet and some arm warmers, black capris. (Same outfit as my FB profile pic.) Hope I see you guys!

Ha ha.. it's really hopeful wishing!! I can tell you the mile ten waterstop with the mid pack runners is usually craaaazzzyyy! I am going to try to be on the right side of the road at a table closer to the end than then front.. but who knows.. You may need to be on the look out for us! That's probably easier! There are 70 of us and 30,000 of you!
-
If I know you'll be past the front pack where everyone stops first, that will help me know where to look (if I even have my wits about me at that point) so I will definitely try! It's my first time in a race this big, so who knows, but I'm glad to at least know you'll be out there, even if I don't manage to see you.
-
Look for me on Front Street between Miles 3-4, left side. I'll be near the South Philly Striders signs which you can't miss.
-
Got it! :)
-
we have 110 volunteers, LOL. I will most likely be wearing a long purple down coat and have a 5 year old in tow :D
-
I'll be the lady with brown hair running in a blue-ish singlet and maybe a hat. :D See you out there!
-
Good luck Philly runners and volunteers. :cheerleader:
-
I'm hoping I can be as good as all of those New York volunteers!

Caito, from the daily run posts it sounds like you're really well trained. So kick some ass!
I've run Philly four times from 2002 to 2008 and always enjoyed it. Maybe I'll be back someday.
-
Yeah, go caito!
-
Good luck ladies! Remember to have fun!

Good luck ladies! Remember to have fun!
:D Oh yeah! That's why we do this!
-
Good luck!! I'd like to run my hometown one day.
-
Oh right, fun!
Had a good talk with my coach late yesterday, and he did how much fun it is to run a good race. And he said I'm ready for it.
Thanks, everyone!

I just finish my shake out run. Legs are feeling good! Philly is an awesome city. Love Old City!
I will continue to debate about what to wear though. It really looks like it will be in the 40s during the race, not getting into the 50s til after 12pm. At home I always wear sleeves in the 40s. So, long sleeve shirt? Or singlet and arm warmers? Will that be warm enough? My singlet is way cooler than my long sleeve. :D I might go get a light long sleeve to throw away a few miles in.
-
Singlet then of course. You want to feel as good as possible. :)
-
Shakeout run here, too - I am still at home. Glad you got to enjoy the city and get psyched up for tomorrow! Woohoo!
My what to wear debate is whether to wear a top under my singlet. I'll wear the singlet with arm warmers, but since we start early, I'm not sure how warm it will be by the finish for the half. Hourly weather says 36-42 between 7 am and 9 am. My singlet is also pretty lightweight, and I have a lightweight seamless short sleeve I could put under it, then stick with arm warmers. I think my midriff and shoulders would be cold. Definitely wearing capris. Hat. Gloves.
I'll have an old hoodie for throwaway at the start. Possibly an old pair of loose workout pants. I always feel colder when it's dark and getting out there at 5:30 am, it will mean temps in the 30's. I'm more concerned about being cold before while waiting - I know I'll be ok once I get going.
-
Good luck tomorrow cgraz & caito

If it helps you, it was high 30's low 40's by the time I got going in nyc with that ferocious wind... I did have long sleeves on and when the sun was out wished it wasn't...
I'd say singlet and sleeves should be good if it's not supposed to be terribly windy

Singlet and arm sleeves it is! I'm fed, the bib is pinned, let's just do this thing.
At the same time…even after months of anticipation, the night before a marathon it still never feels real.

Hope you get some sleep! I slept about 60 min total before nyc

Was he the other guy who went to the wrong place too? Right when we were telling the bartender what we'd done, he walked in. Perfect timing. It was a riot. They tell us it happens a lot. That place was awesome by the way! You should check it out if you've never been. Total hole in the wall with surprisingly amazing food and great beer selection.

Yep. Caito and I put two and two together when he mentioned it.

We were relieved that we weren't the only ones! At least we had the excuses of post-race brain and not knowing the area. ;)
-
And also, both places have basically the same name and are on or at the corner of 2nd Street!
-
Congrats!

Yay! Congrats!
