Title: Sunday, September 28

19 miles.

Maybe my best long run EVER!  Felt like I could have kept going.  What a great confidence booster.

I started early, and it was cool and shady for the first 10 miles.  Started very slow.  What a difference that makes!  The first 10 miles were a gradual uphill and the back half was downhill.  Is that cheating?  :)   I cruised on the way back, running so much faster than I thought would be possible for the last 6 miles.  Of course the downhill helped…but it still feels like cheating a bit!   BUT…the total elevation gain for this route was way higher than last week's route along the Charles…so I'll take it.

The combination of temperature, fueling, hydration…all worked perfectly today…I don't have that usual totally depleted, dead leg, I hate this end of/post-long run feeling.   Whoohoo!

40 minutes on the treadmill.  Hip/hams were a little more sore today.

Knee told me it didn't want to run today, so I opted for a hard bike ride instead.  It was nice - I got to really push myself and was still able to enjoy the rest of the day.
