Title: What's your favorite "bowl" meal?
Post by: RFS on August 14, 2014, 05:36:46 PM
Newest favorite for me is burger in a bowl. Last night we had mixed power greens, shredded cabbage mix, cilantro, cherry tomatoes, red onion, corn, black beans, avocado and a yummy organic grass beef burger all topped off with salsa "dressing". I think I want to do a BBQ version tonight  with crispy onion strings and BBQ sauce "dressing".   :eats:

I like taco salad with the taco "meat" lentils or shredded tempeh or tofu OR refried beans. Throw in all the fixings! Shredded lettuce, corn, salsa, black beans, guac, YUM!

Pulled pork, although I prefer it in a sandwich.

Pork fried rice, although I usually eat it out of a carton.

other than bibimbap, I don't think I understand "bowl" meals... is this just a way to ditch the bread?

I only eat that when I go out, too.  When I was in Boston for 5 days last Spring, I had it every single day...  :)
Thanks for this recipe.

I make all sorts of concoctions that end up in a bowl.  Tonight it was romaine and red lettuce from the CSA, ancho peppers sliced thin, diced tomato, black olives, chopped scallions, a can of tuna, a raw egg, olive oil and lemon juice, and some slivered Italian cheese on top (one WLC point off).  It was fabulous and I ate every scrap.
