Title: white cabbage
Post by: Ice Cream on March 15, 2014, 06:35:19 PM
it's all over the stores now, because of St Patty's day.  But I have never prepared one.  Any good recipes?  Not the traditional Irish ones... too plain for me.

Mostly I use it like a green veg: cut into chunks, steam, serve on the side... or raw in salads and sanwiches or summer kimchi.  Sometimes I cut it into strips and steam, then serve with stew or curry.  Or stir fry.

I keep meaning to try roasting it but I forget.

what 'bou said.  Most of the time we snack on it raw before I can cook it (stir fry is my favorite).

For red cabbage, this is now a staple for us (thanks to teetime, I think):
