Title: KitchenAid Mixer!
Post by: nadra24 on December 28, 2013, 02:29:36 PM
My mom got me a new mixer for Christmas, and it arrived today!  It's a 4 1/2 qt KitchenAid mixer, and it is red.  It is so pretty, I love it!  What should I make first?  I'm thinking pizza dough.  What is your mixer used for most?

mine makes challah dough almost every week.  cookies are second most popular item.  We made Cowboy Cookies (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Colorado-Cowboy-Cookies-104847) the other day.

Enjoy your wonderful new toy!

I made pizza dough on Saturday night, which turned out really well.  I made chocolate chip cookies today, the mixer worked really well but the recipe needs some tweaking.  Not sure if it's an altitude thing or my screwy oven which doesn't want to maintain a temperature.  Likely a combination of both.

How well does the mixer work with smaller batches of stuff, can I make just one loaf of bread and have it knead properly?  Part of the reason I wanted a Kitchenaid is so I could make smaller batches of dough.  Hopefully I won't be disappointed.
