I have a new friend and I love her. She's Pakistani/American. I went to her house earlier and we had some leftover daal fry. It was SO good. She told me how to make it but I am the type of person that needs exact amounts and directions. I'm going to google now. I want some more.

I love dhal and I'm looking forward to this recipe.

I love dahl too! Let us know how it goes!

She said she'll come show me how to make it, but I'm going to try with a recipe first. I've found a few on some blogs. I'm going to try in the next few days and I'll let y'all know.

I know!! We went to her house yesterday and she made another daal for us. Brown lentils this time. I like them better than Moroccan lentils!! Moroccan food is very flavorful, but Pakistani/Indian food is waaaaayyy more tasty to me.

I'm giving this a go at the weekend. Sorry MG you're too slow. :D
Although I'll probably miss out the asafoetida.

I just got back from London, where last night I went to Drummond Street and had popadoms, onion bhaji, veg samosa, pakora, veg byriani and sag aloo.
My partner had masala dhosa, nirmash and salad.
The nan didn't appear at the table. :(
It was lovely.
