Low 400s again but this time steady rain. Did 3 miles in the neighborhood.

7.8 chilly miles
3F outside, 99% snow and ice packed. I like my Hoka Speedgoats on the ice, they handle really well.

6 miles and strides, about a mile on packed snow. It was 18°F and felt like 12°F. I wore two pairs of gloves, both Smartwool and one pair were wind resistant but my fingers still hurt afterwards. I ordered a pair of mittens but that's not going to help with tonight's long speed workout ;(

I was looking at those for a NYE "trail" race I'm doing. I almost pulled the trigger but decided to just run in the Nike Ultrafly trail I already have. The trail is only cinders but I'm worried what that's going to be like with 550+ people on packed snow. There's 1/3 mile portion on pavement or I would wear a pair of XC spikes.
